view all projects →Automotive hood FSI simulation pipeline
Built a coupled fluid–structure interaction pipeline in OpenFOAM to model manufacturing defects across 16,000+ hood geometry variants. Automated mesh generation, parallel SLURM execution, and data transfer via preCICE — co-authored paper accepted to NeurIPS 2025.
→ structures · FEA · rocketryMASA thrust transfer structure
Redesigned the TTS for a 15% thrust increase with a simultaneous 3% weight reduction. Hand calculations verified with ANSYS FEA, buckling failure modes analyzed, and components machined to GD&T spec using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
→ aerodynamics · CFD · testAdaptive camber wing
Simulations and wind tunnel testing lead for a continuously variable camber wing. Ran ANSYS Fluent CFD across three camber modes and three angles of attack, then validated against wind tunnel data — achieved 4–8% L/D improvement over conventional flaps.
→ composites · materialsCarbon fiber surface treatment study
Investigated chemical surface treatments to improve carbon fiber composite bonding strength with aramid additives. Performed composite layups, industry-standard structural tests, and SEM imaging to characterize bonding at the micro scale.
