Currently a college freshman at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, where I'm studying Aerospace Engineering. I'm interested in mathematics, physics, programming, and engineering.

Current Activities

  • Aerospace Materials Research
  • I entered college with the intention of later getting a graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering. Thus, research was one of my main focuses for my freshman year. After applying to multiple projects through the University of Michigan UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program), I was able to finally find a project when I directly emailed Professor Henry Sodano. Under Professsor Henry Sodano, I'm currently working as an undergraduate researcher with Ph.D. Candidate Steven Mamolo. I'm aiming to start my own materials-related research project later this academic year or towards the beginning of next year.
  • Michigan Engineering Zone
  • I wasn't actually planning on becoming a robotics mentor this year, but after attending an initial interest meeting, I knew that it would be the perfect job for me this year. The Michigan Engineering Zone focuses on mentoring FRC teams in Detroit. We help them learn and understand all facets of FRC robotics, including build, design, programming, rules, etc. First Robotics was something that I was especially passionate about in high school, so I'm lucky that I was able to find MEZ this year and be hired as a mentor.
  • MASA
  • MASA is a student-led club at the University of Michigan with the aim of building a liquid-bipropellant rocket engine that will eventually take UofM to space. During my first year, I will be working on propulsion, specifically combustion chamber or valves. This will provide a lot of experience in CAD, machining, and hands-on engineering work, all of which I hope to use for an engineering internship in the summer of 2023.
  • Web Development
  • This website is part of my push to learning some essential programming languages. After starting with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I plan to continue working on my fluency in Python and Java, implementing those languages into future projects that I undertake. I'll be learning MATLAB this year, as well as C/C++ and Assembly language.

Community Service

  • Previous Experiences
  • During my highschool years in Dallas, I was heavily involved with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and Computers for the Blind. I had a wide variety of roles in these different organizations. At CFTB, I recycled and refurbished computers, working with different computer hardware components and troubleshooting computer software problems to provide easy computer access to the visually impaired. At the Perot Museum, I encouraged individuals, especially those of the younger generation, to get involved in and be exicted about STEM topics.

  • FAMNM
  • At UMich, I plan to be heavily involved in the FIRST Alumni and Mentors Network at Michigan, which is a club providing mentorship to younger individuals who participate in the First Robotics challenges. I hope to expand on my prior experience in volunteering with First Robotics, and continue spreading a love of STEM to other students.
